DiNapoli Helps “Good Morning America” Find Unclaimed Funds

Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli had the crew on ABC’s “Good Morning America” all smiles today when he was doling out unclaimed funds from New York.

The show found a total of nearly $44,000 for its crew and staff.

“In tough economic times, we love to return people’s money,” DiNapoli said, as he handed out checks on the set.

The spot even included a cartoon-style DiNapoli at the 2:00 mark. It’s a little different feeling compared to yesterday, when DiNapoli announced that the state and local governments are being hit with a...that’s growing by 16 percent.

The Democratic comptroller says the state has about $11 billion in unclaimed funds from various transactions. You can check to see if you’re owed any money here.
